[B42+ MP] Black Powder Gunsmithing

This mod adds historically accurate 18th and 19th-century black powder firearms that are fully craftable from scratch, including ammunition and black powder. It requires the Gunworks framework for reloading mechanics.

  • Charleville Musket (1770)
  • Springfield percussion rifle
  • Kentucky long rifle
  • 1875 Springfield Trapdoor
  • Double barrel flintlock shotgun
  • Revolvers: Colt Walker, Remington Army, and Schofield

Features include custom reloading animations, animated weapon parts, and new maintenance logic requiring regular cleaning with lard or butter to prevent breakage. Players can forge iron barrels and parts via Blacksmithing, carve stocks via Carpentry, and craft ammunition such as paper cartridges, musket balls, and percussion caps. Resources like cinnabar, zinc, and brass can be foraged, while saltpeter is extracted from animal dung.

FAQ:

  • Safe to add mid-save: Yes
  • Learning recipes: Read recipe books, reverse engineer looted firearms, or level up Blacksmithing
  • Cleaning fouled guns: Keep animal fat (butter/lard) and a rag in inventory, then right-click the firearm and select «Clean Firearm»
  • Finding ores: Forage for zinc and cinnabar in forested areas (cinnabar requires higher Foraging skill)
