Welcome to the Project Zomboid mod hub. The library brings together community-made content for PZ, from small quality-of-life additions to complete gameplay overhauls, new locations, vehicles, equipment, and systems that change the way you play.
Mods are available as downloadable files for Steam, GOG, and other non-Steam editions. You can install them manually without relying on the Workshop, giving you more control over the files and versions used in your game.

Find Content for Your Game Version
Compatibility is one of the most important things to check before installing a mod. The library includes content for different Project Zomboid builds, including Build 40, Build 41, and Build 42. Use the version filter to narrow the results and make it easier to find files intended for your current game.
Some projects also have separate releases for multiplayer or specific builds, so always check the information on the mod page before adding it to an existing save or server.
Manual Installation
Downloaded files can be installed directly into your local Zomboid folder. In most cases, the extracted mod goes into the mods directory inside your user data folder, after which it can be enabled from the in-game Mods menu.
Some additions depend on frameworks, libraries, or other mods. If dependencies are required, install them alongside the main project and follow the instructions on its page.
See our step-by-step installation guide if you are new to manual modding.
Multiplayer and Community Content
PZ has a large modding community, and many projects are designed with multiplayer in mind. Others are intended for single-player or may require specific configurations. When setting up a server, make sure the host and players use compatible versions and the same required dependencies.
Use the Multiplayer filter when you specifically need additions suitable for online play.
Recently Added and Updated
The collection is regularly expanded with new releases and updated files. Recent additions can include anything from a new vehicle or weapon to a complete map expansion or gameplay system.
Browse the grid, choose a category, or use the available filters to explore the library without having to search through unrelated content.
Before Installing a Mod
Check the supported build, dependencies, multiplayer compatibility, and installation notes before adding anything to your game. Large map or gameplay changes can affect existing saves, and removing some mods later may cause problems.
For major changes, keeping a backup of your save is a simple precaution. If a project replaces or substantially changes an existing system, read its compatibility information before starting a new playthrough.
