Mod «Z'Ware Flamethrower Family [B42]» for Project Zomboid
This mod adds four distinct, fully self-contained flamethrowers to Project Zomboid, each with its own model, range, damage tier, and visual identity. The weapons are designed for sustained fire rather than short bursts. Flame streams track the player's aim and end around the cursor, scaling in reach by weapon type. Direct flame contact is highly effective, capable of killing zombies quickly and leaving them ignited.
- PF-240 “Ripley’s BBQ” — compact military/retro-future unit
- Survivor Mk I — improvised gasoline-powered construction
- Pyroclast Heavy — heavy long-burn horde-control weapon
- Dragon — late-game futuristic Z’Ware projector
Environmental fire is an integral part of the system. Trees, vegetation, ground, and suitable structural surfaces can ignite, creating persistent fires that provide area denial and lighting. Environmental behavior, including fire persistence, ignition strength, rain suppression, and active-fire limits, is configurable.
All four flamethrowers use the Z’Ware Universal Flame Tank. A full tank provides approximately 3.5 minutes of continuous real-world burn time. Tanks can be refilled with gasoline from standard fuel sources and crafted with relatively low Maintenance and Metalworking requirements. Inventory information displays fuel percentage, remaining gasoline, and approximate burn time.
Firefighter gear offers significant protection, with resistance scaling based on the equipment worn. A combination of jacket, trousers, helmet, boots, gloves, and SCBA can provide up to roughly 90% fire resistance. Proper turnout gear makes operating near burning terrain safer but does not render the player completely fireproof.
Flamethrowers and refill tanks can be found in contextual locations such as fire stations, emergency vehicles, police or tactical storage, military installations, armories, garages, workshops, and other appropriate service locations. Weapons are rarer than fuel tanks by design.
Admin and Sandbox controls allow adjustment of loot frequency for flamethrowers and fuel tanks, environmental fire settings (on/off), ignition rules for trees, vegetation, ground, and walls, fire persistence and intensity, rain dampening, maximum active persistent fires, and environmental fire-light effects.
