Mod «Maskarad's Summer Car» for Project Zomboid

Maskarad’s Summer Car is a vehicle-maintenance overhaul for Project Zomboid Build 42. It transforms the engine into a collection of real parts and systems that require inspection, maintenance, and repair. The mod is inspired by My Summer Car but is an independent project not affiliated with other similar mods.

• Engines can be fully removed from vehicles using a car lift and worked on separately
• Three unique engine models with three color options each (9 total)
• Removed engines retain installed parts, condition, fluids, and vehicle characteristics
• Engines can be swapped between vehicles, though incompatible combinations may cause stress and wear
• Fully assembled engines can be transported in trunks; empty blocks can be carried by hand

Vehicles utilize over 35 individual engine and drivetrain components, each with specific condition, function, and failure effects. Systems include electrical, fuel, air intake, cooling, lubrication, internal engine, and transmission. Worn or missing components can cause hard starts, misfires, power loss, overheating, leaks, or complete failure.

• Parts can be removed, installed, repaired, and replaced individually with realistic disassembly dependencies
• Components come in Standard, Heavy-Duty, Sport, and rare Legendary classes
• Mismatched parts may increase heat, stress, wear, instability, and fuel consumption

New interface tabs allow for detailed inspection and maintenance:

• Engine Parts: Inspects components, checks condition/compatibility, and identifies missing parts
• Fluids and Temperatures: Monitors oil, coolant, and transmission fluid levels and temperatures
• Diagnostics: Displays mechanical problems, negative effects, and active issues

Diagnostic tools include the Oil Dipstick, Pyrometer, and Automotive ECU, all of which can be crafted in-game. The Automotive ECU replaces the need for other tools and provides advanced diagnostics for mechanical failures, power loss, and pressure issues.

• Tested with KI5 cars; vanilla physics fully supported
• Better Car Physics is optional but recommended for manual/automatic transmission control and enhanced performance simulation
• Incompatible with Specific Loot (KI5) and Functional Car Lift
