Mod «Zombies Target Animals» for Project Zomboid

This mod overhauls zombie and animal interactions by enabling zombies to actively pursue, attack, and feed on animals. Zombies chase livestock and wild animals with increased speed during pursuit, bite them using specific animations, and consume carcasses after a kill. Meat butchered from zombie-killed animals is spoiled and unsafe to eat.

• Zombies pursue nearby animals and accelerate when closing in on targets
• Wounded animals slow down to allow chases to conclude
• Zombies gather and feed on carcasses after killing prey
• Wild animals such as deer and rabbits are hunted by default; this can be restricted to farm animals via sandbox options
• Male animals (bulls, rams, boars, roosters, and stallions if the Horse mod is installed) charge and knock down zombies when wounded, fleeing at half health or fighting to the death if attacked again
• Dogs are excluded from zombie targeting for compatibility reasons

Sandbox Options:

• Configurable aggro radius, zombie speed near livestock, bite and gore damage, knockdown chance, and carcass spoilage
• Options to disable wild animal hunting or animal retaliation mechanics
• Settings are stored per save; changes to defaults only affect new saves unless edited in-game

Compatibility:

• Requires Build 42.20
• Safe to add to existing saves and safe to remove mid-save
• Multiplayer is not supported
