Mod «CD: Labrador» for Project Zomboid
CD: Labrador is an optional breed add-on for the Companion Dogs mod, introducing the Labrador Retriever as a specialized hunting companion. Designed for Build 42 (42.19), this addition supports singleplayer, co-op, and dedicated servers, and is safe to add to existing saves.
- Hunting Specialization: Trains Hunting twice as fast and possesses a unique Soft Mouth moodle, allowing it to reliably retrieve game from the first catch without dropping it.
- Skill Progression: Players gain Butchering and Short Blade XP faster while accompanied by a fed, loyal Labrador.
- Combat Limitations: Features the weakest bite strength among breeds and cannot knock down zombies; intended for utility rather than combat.
- Spawning: Found in residential homes at half the base stray chance, as well as at hunting cabins, campsites, boathouses, and ranger stations. Spawn rates scale with sandbox Animal/Dog multipliers.
- Base Features: Includes all standard mechanics such as Follow/Stay/Guard commands, sentinel alerts, saddlebags, needs, loyalty, skills, genetics, and cross-breeding.
Requirements:
- Requires the base mod «Companion Dogs» version 0.6.6 or newer.
- Both mods must be enabled and the game fully restarted to load models correctly.
Warning: Do not remove this add-on from a save containing living Labradors, as the engine discards animals of unknown types. Other dogs and the base mod remain unaffected.
